This little rose is planted in a container on the east patio by the waterfall. When my son was in graduate school in the UK, he sent me this potted rose as a Mother's Day gift.
This little rose bush has bloomed off and on all summer long for two years now. For some reason, it escaped Japanese Beetle damage both summers. There is a nepeta growing beside it, but I don't know if that's what kept the beetles away or not.
When the entire rose bush is in full bloom, the orange blossoms looks especially nice with the clumps of variegated carex in the background and the spikes of lavender-blue nepeta. This is probably the last miniature rose for 2008, and it is so perfect!
